She is your extra set of eyes and ears to help prioritize household tasks that need tending while keeping Mom and her wellbeing as the top priority.
Postpartum Doula's are trained professionals who provide care to support moms recovery in the first 12 weeks after birth (the fourth trimester). They provide non-biased, evidence based information to encourage informed decision making, support mom in her physical and emotional healing process, assist the flow of household organization, and give instruction on infant care and feeding. Postpartum Doulas can help Prenatally as well to help support, educate and provide resources for the intended birth and post-birth plan. A meeting to discuss and establish a base for care needs prior to baby's arrival is ideally scheduled in advance.
