Postpartum & Birth Doulas
Lactation Consultant
Newborn Care Specialist
I have been a doula since 2013. I am a trained professional birth doula, and a Hypnobabies® Childbirth Hypnosis Doula with additional workshop experience using Spinning Babies. I work ... moreto support the partner and mom in preparing for birth by educating families on the most up to date, study supported, evidence based birth options available to them. Together we navigate the choices in birth and postpartum planning based on your personal desires. It is not my birth or baby, so I will support any goals.

From my own birth experience and many others I've attended, I've discovered that partners also need special care and support during their birth experience as well. Birth can be very emotional and physically exhausting for both partners. I help facilitate partner self-care and help partners better support mama. My job in no way replaces a partner, unless that is specifically needed, but enhances the couple's ability to bond in labor, which facilitates labor hormones. As a team we will create a safe environment for mom to labor, while the partner engages with Primary Care Providers.

We also provide new mommy & prenatal groups, lactation consulting and childbirth education.
Whether you’re becoming a parent for the first time or growing your family, Hip to Heart makes it easy for you to focus on creating memories with your new baby.... more

Doula + Post Birth Ayurvedic Doula Care  Doula is a Greek word meaning “woman’s helper”. The role of a doula is to provide complete support to the mother prior to the birth and during ... morethe entire labor and delivery. The doula makes sure all of the mother’s questions are answered, her birth plan is known by her medical team , and to keep her mind and body at ease as she prepares for labor. The new mother also has 24-hour support for the first three days after birth as well as an hour long follow-up once the baby is a week old.

The doula is also there to support the partner and family of the laboring mother. It is vital that the partner also have a chance to rest or take a break during the labor. This way, once the babe is born, both partners will feel refreshed and ready to take on parenthood.

Post Birth Care

The common expression, ‘It takes a village’ proves to be most accurate for parents who have just welcomed in the birth of a new babe. Whether you are having your first child or third, the first few weeks after a baby is born is often when parents most benefit from the help of their ‘village.’ A newborn thrives on unconditional love and endless affection. To best meet the infant’s needs, it is essential the parents maintain their sense of wellbeing through daily selfcare practices.

By the family having a solid support team to turn to, day-to-day life can run more smoothly while overall daily happiness and the ability to stay present is greatly increased. For new parents, a freshly prepared nutritious meal and a few moments rest will leave parents feeling refreshed and ready to take on the gratifying moments and arising challenges of raising a newborn.

The following services are offered in the convenience of your home to ensure that the experience is only helpful and restorative, never stressful. By eliminating the need to load all of the baby’s necessities into the car and trying to work around an infant’s sleeping schedule, I am able to assist your family in receiving moments of peace and restorative relaxation so you are able to appreciate the blessing of these fleeting, precious moments.

Family Home Care services include but are not limited to:

Seasonal nutritious meals cooked in your home or delivered to you
Personalized yoga practice designed around the needs of the new parents
Ayurvedic therapeutic bodywork with organic oils and warm sea stones
Client wellness consultations to bring the body and mind back into balance
Instruction on the methods and benefits of baby bodywork
Family yoga practice
Guided meditation and Pranayama (breath work) to simultaneously energize and ground you
New parent free time- choose to rest or do as you please while I tend to the needs of the baby

I'm a postpartum doula, yoga instructor, and most importantly, the mother of a six-year old boy and four-year old girl (born 20 months apart). I previously served as a licensed social ... moreworker supporting special needs children and families.

I've always been called to serve the emotional and physical well-being of others, with a special focus on the mind-body connection. After the birth of my first child, a wise older mamma described postpartum to me as a period when “mothers need to be mothered." My own postpartum experiences informed my interest and curiosity about the fourth trimester in our culture. I had so many questions about how to navigate this tender period and was curious why so many new mothers experience anxiety, depression and a general sense of longing to connect and create community with other women.

Motherhood is a rite of passage and a transition that often goes unrecognized in our culture. We dutifully prepare for the birth of a baby, ensuring we have all the essentials that the newborn child might need. But what if we paused for a moment to ask what the newborn mother might need to heal, restore vitality, and feel whole and supported in her new role as mother and caretaker? I’ve spent the past couple years researching and training with women who recognize the gaps in care for new mothers during the early postpartum period referred to as the Fourth Trimester.

My goal is to provide non-judgmental and supportive mother-centered postpartum care that allows for optimal family wellness. Through practical, physical and emotional support during this period, a family can find their footing as they cross the threshold to parenthood.
