I am a licensed massage therapist, in private practice for over 16 years. I am certified in Perinatal Massage and Labor Preparation with over 14 years experience in perinatal care ... more(including coaching laboring mothers with massage and acupressure). My work is heavily influenced by craniosacral therapy, acupressure, reflexology, and myofascial release techniques and I am trained in several osteopathic neuromuscular techniques. I am a reiki Master, have trained in craniosacral therapy through Upledger and pediatric training with Carol Gray, and am a certified TummyTime!™ Professional and teaching assistant.

The TummyTime! Method is a therapeutic program, based on principles of occupational therapy, which addresses the needs of tongue tied babies, offering both pre- and post-frenectomy care. TummyTime! optimizes tongue and cranial nerve function, enhances the benefits of frenectomy, addresses gastrointestinal complaints such as colic, reflux and aerophagia, minimizes and therapeutically treats conditions such as plagiocephaly, brachycephaly and torticollis, and helps distressed babies to feel safe and more calm in tummy time (as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics). TummyTime! equips parents with a wide range of therapeutic home-care techniques which enable babies to be less dependent on formal therapy.

I have had extensive education regarding ankyloglossia (tongue tie), including training repetitively with (and assisting) Dr. Martin Kaplan and Michelle Emanuel at Tufts University Dental School, and have mentored under Michelle Emanuel (neonatal/pediatric occupational therapist, Cincinnati, OH), as well as have trained with Diane Bahr, SLP (speech language pathologist, Las Vegas, NV).

I coordinate the Ankyloglossia Bodyworkers webpage www.ankyloglossiabodyworkers.com which is an international listing of bodyworkers who address tongue tie, in order to create greater access to support for moms and babies with tongue tie. I am a staunch educational advocate for babies with cranial nerve dysfunction and oral dysfunction, and firmly believe that no mother and baby should go through this journey alone.
